The Municipality of Petaloudes comprises of the coastal villages of Kremasti, Paradissi and Theologos as well as the villages of Pastida, Maritsa, Damatria and the unique Butterflies Valley.
The region in the ancient times was the Southern part of the city state of Iallysos. The region maintains up to day its agricultural character, combined with a touristic growth and the unique natural beauties of this municipality. The most famous attraction of this municipality is the Butterflies Valley with it unique flora and fauna. It is a rare place where the butterflies of the Panaxia Quadripunctaria species reproduce.
